That’s the overall binding statement of The Medical City in their media launch earlier today, spearheaded by no less than former DOH Secretary Dr. Alfredo R.A. Bengzon — The Medical City’s president and CEO.

During his talk to the press, Dr. Bengzon  emphasized the need for a nationwide movement — “Be Healthy Always” — which aims to empower Filipinos to take a more proactive role in caring for their health. The Medical City (or TMC), for its part, is making free medical checkups available across its 36 clinics and network of hospitals in Metro Manila and key provinces nationwide.

Playing as team, is what we are talking about here, said Dr. Bengzon, referring to a patient-doctor partnership.

At the campaign kick-off, TMC’s experts stressed that the ideal prevention-approach not only includes healthy lifestyle choices, but also promotes the early and proactive detection, diagnosis and appropriate management of conditions and illnesses, throughout one’s entire lifecycle.

“Prevention should be integrated into all aspects of our lives. The overarching goal of this movement is to increase the number of Filipinos who are healthy at every stage of their life,” shares Dr. Alfredo R.A. Bengzon, President and Chief Executive Officer of TMC. “At TMC, we are committed to empowering families to making healthier choices by expanding our services to ensure that quality healthcare is accessible to all. Through the Be Healthy Always movement we want to inspire and push every Filipino to start taking an active role in caring for their health, to see families live life to its fullest and as burden-free as possible.”

Free checkups in TriNoma Mall from October 10 to 11, 2015

The official campaign kick-off of the Be Healthy Always Movement will be on October 10 and 11 at the TriNoma in Quezon City where TMC will provide free medical consultations in cardiology, ophthalmology, women’s health and pediatric health.

This is not merely a medical mission, said Dr. Eugenio Jose F. Ramos, TMC’s SVP for the Medical Services Group.

Primary care doctors will be available for consultations and recommend appropriate screening tests. Medical experts will be on hand for health talks on common myths surrounding certain diseases while promoting a well-rounded lifestyle.
