Fight Covid-19 – List of Hospitals Where You Can Donate Goods and Personal Protective Equipment | As of this writing (March 28, 2020), the Philippines now has 1,075 confirmed cases of Covid-19. The Death toll is now at 68 and a total number of recoveries are at 35.

With this increment of the confirmed cases of Covid-19 here in the Philippines, simultaneously it decreases our front liners which are the doctors. The major reasons why the frontliners are decreasing because of the lack of personal protective equipment, the lack of cooperation of our citizens, lack of testing kits, lack of food supply, and many other factors that can lessen their capability to perform well to fight the Covid-19. One way to support them is to stay home to decrease the spread of the virus. Though many volunteer groups have chosen to bring more supplies to the frontlines in whatever manner they can.

Social Distancing is one of the processes to stop the spreading of Covid-19. Social Distancing is deliberately increasing the physical space between people to avoid spreading illness. Staying at least six feet away from other people lessens your chances of catching Covid-19. One example of Social Distancing is canceling an event that is likely drawing crowds. Working from home, switching to online classes, visiting a person through electronic devices or social applications like Zoom or FB Messenger, and postponing large meetings are examples of social distancing.

One of the problems of doctors and other medical practitioners in the Philippines is the lack of Personal Protective Equipment. Personal Protective Equipment, commonly known as “PPE”, is equipment worn to minimize exposure to hazards that cause serious injuries or illnesses like Covid-19. PPE is commonly used in health care settings such as hospitals, doctor’s offices, and clinical labs. When used properly, PPE acts as a barrier between infectious materials such as viral and bacterial contaminants and your skin, mouth, nose, or eyes (mucous membranes). The barrier has the potential to block the transmission of contaminants from blood, body fluids, or respiratory secretions.
